Easy Brussel Sprout Recipe
I am hoping that you like Brussels sprouts too. This late summer vegetable is good for you. Although it is available all year long in the grocery store, and the frozen one also always available for sure, but it is actually one of late summer crop.
That is why I like about to eat in the season ideas because it does not only save you on grocery budget but it also gives you seasonal varieties, so we don’t have to eat the same thing over and over again.
Brussels sprouts are great on raw salad and also very tasty roasted on its own or mix it with other vegetables. Here I make Roasted Brussels Sprouts With Bacon. Cook the bacon until crispy while you bake the brussels sprouts and crumble it. You can also use the ready bacon bits if you preferred.

- 2 pounds Brussels sprouts
- salt
- black pepper
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1/2 cup shelled pumpkin seeds or pepita seed
- 1/2 cup crumbled bacon
-
Preheated oven to 425° F, prepare the rimmed baking sheet, line it with parchment paper
-
In a bowl, mix the maple syrup with 1 tbsp oil.
-
Halved the Brussels sprouts, spread them on the baking sheet, toss them with 2 tbsp oil, enough pinch of salt, and black pepper.
-
Roast it in the oven for 15 minutes.
-
Take the Brussels sprouts out from the oven, add the maple syrup mixture and pepita seeds, stir it with a spatula, then put it back to the oven, roast it for another 15 minutes.
-
Take it out from the oven, add crumbled bacon, stir it with a spatula. Serve.
- You can serve this roasted Brussels sprouts with any meat you like, baked salmon, roasted chicken, steak or shrimp.
- It is also great for meal prep.
- This recipe is suitable for a vegetarian meal if you omit the bacon.

The natural taste of brussels sprouts is a slightly nutty flavor just like broccoli or kale. Because of I have a daughter who has a nut allergy, so I add pumpkin seed instead of nuts to the recipes. It adds crunch to the roasted brussels sprouts. If you are not into maple syrup, you can definitely replace it with honey.
Oh yea, try these recipes too for a quick and easy meal for any busy weekdays.
