Take the family and friends to visit the Enchanted Forest in Revelstoke, British Columbia. You will see all enchanting figurines from the fairy tale stories and lots of beautiful miniature houses and treehouses that you wish to have it in the backyard.
Beautiful Enchanted Forest To Visit
Who doesn’t love fairy tales? I am a mom of two who still love all kind of fairy tales. It somehow brings back the memory to my childhood. These stories always make me happy, bring so much joy and smile on my face. I know it must sound cheesy to hear that, but I love things about fairies and Mother Goose rhymes.
When we were on a road trip to British Columbia, I found this magical place about 32 km West of Revelstoke, BC. Ever since we are heading there, we always stop by at this place to relax, admiring the artwork, enjoy the nature and all the attractions there. My kids love this place a lot, as they recognized all the figurines and structure from these fairy tales and Mother Goose stories.
Pictures above are the Little Boy Blue complete with the rhyme on the board and the Snow White And The Seven Dwarf figurines with their house.
If you are coming from Revelstoke, you will find this place on the left side, recognize by the mini castle structure with the dragon perching on top. From what I understand, The Enchanted Forest began many years ago by Doris Needham, an artist who loves to make figurines from cement by hand. Doris and her husband Ernest developed this place over the years for setting up her handiwork and a retirement project and named it Enchanted Forest.
Up to this day, The Enchanted Forest remains one of the British Columbia’s attraction. There is also Sky Trek Adventure on the other side. It has 4 High-Ropes Challenge Courses, an Adventure Tower, a Kids Tree Adventure and a Jungle Gym.
First, of course, you need to get the admission ticket by the office in the front. As soon as you open the door of the office, you will see the fun things waiting in front of you. Just follow the path, you will find something interesting in every corner.
Also, take your time to read all rhymes it says on the boards there, the little ones would be surprised with what it says, my kids keep shouting excitedly ” oh, I remember the rhyme!”.
In this little castle, you will find a mini dungeon too at the basement, and if you walk up the stair outside of the castle, there is a perfect little rooftop for viewing the scenery and spot for taking a picture too.
Follow the path into the wood, and you will find lots of enchanting miniatures houses. You might recognize them from the story of Three Little Pigs, The Women Who Live In The Shoe, Peter Piper, Snow White And The Seven Dwarf, The Wizard Of Oz and lots more.
There also a lovely towering tree house you can climb to, carved wood stump, restored wood hollowed, walking through the log and so much more.
As we walked to follow the path, we found some surprises hiding here and there. We took our times to read and look at every little thing we find there. The miniature houses are big enough for us grown up if you want to see the inside. Some of them have a complete interior including mini bed and chairs. There also some miniature houses have ladder or stair to the upper level. Below image is the home of The Women Who Live In The Shoe. As you can see, there is a board with the rhymes about the story.
If I see from the building structure on the picture above, I think it is from the Wizard Of Oz story. The image below is the tree house. Kids and adult can walk up the stair to the very top of the house, but I think it is better to climb there when it is not too many people in the house.
You will see the Sky Trek Adventure from the tree house, but you need to purchase admission and different entrance to get there.
When you are finished exploring the forest, you will find the little pond with some fish and ducks. You can feed these fish and duck from your hand. You can purchase the food from the feeder dispenser for 25 cents. Kids will have so much fun getting the experience to feed the fish and the duck by them self.
On the way to the exit, there is a tunnel resemble the Alice In Wonderland all the way to the gift store on the front side. You will find all kind of whimsical fairy related things for the gift or keep it for your self as a keepsake.
If you still have more times to explore, take a minute walk to the next location for Sky Trek Adventure. Kids love to try everything the facility can offer there, from the sky swing, climbing walls, and a log climb to the jungle gym for the little ones.
We visit this place numerous times, but it still on the top list for road trip destination especially with kids. It also a perfect spot to get off the car for such a long drive before we continue the trip all the way to Okanagan.
If you are not on a road trip, let’s say you are visiting Revelstoke, there also numerous places for camping and even some hotels and lodges nearby. The Enchanted Forest website has more information about admissions, hours, accommodations, activities and attractions nearby. For more details visit the website here.
We had so much fun and got more fresh air before we continue the trip. I can imagine it would be interesting if I build the similar miniature house in my backyard, am I right? But there will be lots of work if I make it from scratch, talk about a big garden project! Well, I am happy enough to have my very own enchanting garden.
