This smoothie is perfect for breakfast to start the day. It is a very healthy drink full of fiber, antioxidants, and vitamins.

If there is any meal that you will have every morning over and over again, what would it be? My best meal for breakfast that I don’t mind to have it every morning is an avocado smoothie. I think it is because so easy to prepare it, and the fresh taste of this smoothie always brighten up my morning to start the day.

  • Avocado Smoothie Recipe

I should say that avocado is good for you, but I am sure you all probably know about it. An avocado is a perfect option for the creamy base on smoothie ingredient as yogurt or banana alternative. I find it that using avocado make the smoothie more creamy and smooth better than using banana. The flavor also won’t be overpowering other ingredients, unlike banana.

How To Make Avocado Smoothie

Ingredient:

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 cup spinach, can be substitute with other green leafy vegetable
  • 1/2 cup or more fresh squeeze orange juice, depending what consistency you want, packaged orange juice is fine too.

Direction:

  • Put all ingredient in blender, process it until smooth.

For this recipe, I use orange juice for the liquid base. I find it the sweet and sour taste on orange juice pairs well with the avocado taste. You can also use coconut water if you prefer. Using fresh squeezed orange juice tastes better than package one. But if it is not available, then package one is the best option and quick to prepare too for sure.

Adding green leafy vegetable on this smoothies will add more fiber and nutrient. Baby spinach and baby kale are perfect for this.

How does Avocado Smoothie Taste Like

Because there is no sugar or any other sweetener added, this smoothie is not sweet, so it is more like fresh sweet and sour taste. The sweet come from the orange juice, so adding sweetener is unnecessary.

Avocado Smoothies Is Good For Breakfast

While avocado is somewhat high in fat, but please not too worry, unless you have food tolerance or allergic reaction to avocado. Avocado has a good fat that you might want to add it into your daily diet. When I have this avocado smoothie for breakfast, it will keep me full until lunchtime without being too heavy. So, I would say having an avocado smoothie is an excellent choice for a light meal to start the day.
