Easy Tutorial To Wrap Presents
Easy creative DIY red gift wrapping ideas for Christmas with ribbon, felt, and washi tape.
The big holiday of the year is coming up. I am sure everybody busy planning for the perfect holiday from now on, from the holiday menu for dinner, gift shopping, decorating the house, trip to visit family and friends, hoping everyone gets relax not overtired during the holiday season.

To be honest, I am not preparing anything yet, other than to do my favorite one, wrapping the presents. I finished gift shopping early, so I can do something else later on like baking cookies.
This time I use red accent on each gift. To make the wrapping decor stand out, I use the solid white wrapping paper for the base. The most important thing here, we don’t need more expensive wrapping items than the value of the gift itself.
We can actually find things we can use to decorate the present around the house, like kitchen twine, yes that string for baking the chicken or meat. If you knit, use the yarn for gift wrapping.
Look outside, the spruce tree or juniper is gorgeous during the holiday, snap the twig, little one, not the whole tree, the evergreen tree leaves is perfect for decorating the presents. If you really need to purchase the decoration item, every dollar stores have a beautiful display of all decorations you can imagine for less.
Right now I use what I have on my stash, then I go get what I need to dollar store if I don’t have any available on hand.

How To Make Red Accent Gift Wrapping
Doily with the bow tie.
Put the paper-doily first, wrap the red washi tape around the present, secure it with transparent tape in the back. Make a simple bow from ribbon, attach the bow and the gift tag on top of the paper doily, secure it with transparent tape or double-sided tape.
Doily with a candy cane for a bonus.
Put the paper-doily in the middle, wrap the red washi tape around the present in length and width, secure it with transparent tape, attach the candy cane and the gift tag on top of the paper doily using transparent tape or double-sided tape.
Weaving the washi tape.
I use the gold and red sparkly washi tape. Cut the red tape into three pieces for wrapping around in the width of the box.
Cut the gold tape into three pieces for wrapping around the length of the box. Weave the tape using the over and under weaving system. Secure each end of the tapes in the back with transparent tape.
Trace the ornament shapes.
You can make any shape you want by tracing the circle using a drinking glass or cookie cutter. There is also lots of printable ornament shape that you can use for this project.
I use the felt ribbon for this. You can use any red paper or even red fabric for this. Cut up the shape, decorate it with gold washi tape.
Put the elastic ribbon on the box, use the transparent tape or double-sided tape to keep it stay the shape you want. Arrange the ornament shape on top of the elastic ribbon then attach it using double-sided tape.
Elastic ribbon and rhinestone.
Wrap the elastic ribbon around the box, secure each end in the back by making a knot or use transparent tape. Apply double-sided tape on each rhinestone, place the rhinestone anywhere on top of the elastic band.
Wrapping paper over the present.
If you have another wrapping paper with a red pattern or any other color and pattern you like, cut it a piece to wrap around the box on the width, put the red washi tape around the edge of it. Secure each end with transparent tape in the back.
Felt garland.
Trace the circle using a drinking glass or any other circle object on top of the felt ribbon. Sew all the circles just like making garlands.
Here is how to sew paper garlands, it will be the same way if using felt. Wrap the garland around the box, put the red washi tape on each side of the garland, secure each end with transparent tape in the back.
Santa belt.
Cut the felt ribbon, long enough to wrap around the box by the width. Cut a rectangle shape on black crafting paper.
Make incision using the cutter on the black paper resemble the belt buckle. Insert the felt ribbon on the black paper just like wearing the belt, secure each end of the felt in the back using transparent tape.
Curly ribbon.
The classic one uses the ribbon. Wrap the ribbon around the box. Make a knot or secure it with transparent tape.
Wrap the piece of ribbon on pencil or chopstick then pull the pencil out, it will make the ribbon curly. Put the curly ribbon on the box apply the transparent tape, attach the gift tag on top of the curly ribbon.
Tight the gift tag.
I happen to have the gift tag that looks like candy. Use a hole puncher to make six holes around the gift tag.
Insert the elastic ribbon on one hole, wrap it around the box, insert the ribbon into another hole, then wrap it around again, just like making dream catcher or inserting the shoelace.
Make a knot on each end of the elastic ribbon and secure it with the transparent tape in the back of the box.
There you go, it is very simple decoration but pretty. It will make your family and friends feel special for sure having their gift with the lovely decor.
The customized touch on the wrapping itself will make the gift more special. If you are not into a red theme, then try this pleated brown paper gift wrapping ideas.
