To make the candy corn patchwork, pin the white and the orange fabric together on the long edge with the right side of both fabrics facing each other, sew it with a 0.5″ seam allowance.

Pin the yellow and the orange fabric together on the long edge with the right side of both fabrics facing each other, sew it with a 0.5″ seam allowance.

Flatten the stitched edge, and topstitch along the yellow and white fabric hem.
Make the candy corn template. Mark the paper with these measurements as shown in the picture below.

On the top side, measure 1.5″ from the left and right corners toward the center. On the bottom side, measure 0.5″ up from the left corner, and 0.5″ from the left corner to the right side, then measure 0.5″ up from the right corner and 0.5″ over to the left side. Then use a protractor on all three corners.

Pin two brown fabrics together with the right sides facing each other. Trace the candy corn template on the fabric. Sew along the traced line.
Trim the excess fabric inside the stitched line. It will resemble a triangle shape. Fringe cut or clip all three corners. Turn the fabric right side out through the triangle, and press it with a clothes iron.

To make the reverse applique coaster, pin the material as follows: patchwork fabric with the right side down, fusible fleece, one piece of brown fabric with the right side up, and the brown fabric with the triangle shape.

Sew along the square edge with 0.25″ seam allowance. Clip all four corners to reduce bulk.

Turn the fabric right side out through the triangle shape. Now the candy corn patchwork will show in the center inside the triangle. Press it with a clothes iron, then topstitch along the hem of the triangle shape.

The candy corn reverse applique coaster is ready to use now. The size of the coaster is 4.5″ x 4.5″.
