There are many pie plate sizes, but most pie recipes use the 9″ diameter pan. This cozy is for a 9″ Pyrex pie pan because that is the pie pan I use most of the time.
I also have the 9,5″ pie plate, which fits on the cozy.
The two pointy corners on the opposite side also act as the handle when you lift the pie plate. Also, to protect your hand when you hold the hot pie plate handle.
Supply To Make A Pie Plate Cozy
You will get one pie plate cozy from two sheets of fat quarter fabric and three cozies from one-yard fabric.
Use 100% cotton fabric, batting, and thread if you plan to use it in the microwave. I used cotton quilt fabric for this project.
- 2 sheets of fat quarter cotton fabric
- Pie plate cozy pattern (if you want to use a template so you can skip the measuring process)

- 100% cotton thread
- Disappeared fabric marker, I always use the dual-purpose fabric marker.
