Sew some homemade DIY fabric beverage holder cozy with this easy tutorial for an easy craft project you can make from fabric scraps.
Use This Guide To Make Beverage Holder Cozy
When the weather gets warm, grabbing a refreshment is always a great idea. But the cold and condensation from refrigerated beverage bottles or can is not that fun to hold.
With only two pieces of fabric and two pieces of insulation, you can make the beverage cozy, or some people also call it beverage koozies.

Sewing beverage holders won’t take too much time to make. However, you will find yourself wanting to sew some more. You can sew one and match the fabric with the coffee cozy too.
This fabric drink holder is handy for the summer and an excellent addition for your get-together party, backyard party, bbq bash, or even party favour.
Supply To Make Beverage Holder Cozy
You need two pieces of mix and match fabrics at least 11 x 7 inches each and one piece of insulation size 10.5 x 4.5 inches. You can use two fat eighth fabric pieces if you don’t have fabric scrap around that size.
You can use the Insult-Bright to make an insulated beverage holder. Layer the Insult-Bright with the regular batting to keep the drink cold, and you can hold the bottle or the can comfortably.
The front side of the cozy is a simple patchwork. It is an easy step similar to this cloth napkins tutorial. Use the same fabric from the backside for the front strips or use a mix and match fabric prints.
Suppose you want to use a Beverage Holder Cozy pattern or template instead of measuring each fabric and batting. In that case, you can get the template that is only available as a printable PDF, and you can click open here to purchase it for only a few dollars.

If you don’t use the Beverage Holder Cozy template (available here), then cut the fabric into these measurements below:
- Cut one piece of fabric 11 x 5 inches rectangle for the backside.
- Cut one piece of fabric 11 x 4 inches rectangle for the front side.
- Cut two pieces of fabric 11 x 1 inch rectangle for the front side (simple patchwork).
- Cut one piece of Insult-Bright Insulation 10.5 x 4.5 inches rectangle
- Cut one piece of quilt batting 10.5 x 4.5 inches rectangle
Just trace each template on the fabric, batting, and Insult-Bright if you use the template.
Cut the hoop and loop (Velcro or another brand) 4 inches long. Use a similar tutorial with this fabric coffee cozy if you use buttons and elastic for the fastener.
To assemble, make a simple patchwork by pinning the small fabric strips on both long sides of the fabric for the front side, with the right side of all fabrics facing each other.
Sew the fabric on both long sides. Flip the smaller strip up, then press it with the ironing machine.
Sandwich all materials with this order, the fabric for the back with the right side facing up, the fabric for the front with the right side facing down, quilt batting, and Insult Bright insulation. Then, pin it or use quilting clips.
Make sure the batting and Insult Bright are in the middle of the fabric in between 0.25″ seam allowance.
Sew it all together, and make sure to stitch it on the batting. Skip the stitching 3″ for the opening.
Clip each corner to reduce bulk. Then, turn the cozy right side out and use the chopstick to push each corner.
Next, press the cozy with the ironing machine. Then, topstitch the hem and close the opening at the same time.
Sew the hoop and loop on each shorter side of the cozy.
Your insulated beverage holder is ready to use.
